Mt Tom in Eastern California soars nearly 9000 feet above the Owens Valley near Bishop. At 13,652ft/4161m it looms like an apparition above the valley floor. Last week the top of the mountain received nearly 10 feet (3 meters) of snow in just 4 days. Temperatures on top this time of year are well below 0 celsius while the valley can bask in warm sunshine.

Hello David!

Amazing contrasts in temperatures are clearly visible here . Well seen and captured.

The best from both worlds I guess (^_^). The pleasure of winter sports , without the shoveling works at home, in the valley.
Cheers!
Robert

Hi David
It seems that the mountain is so close. But it would probably be hard there to enter. Very fine view.
