[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
My wife, son Mike and I spent the weekend on the Eastern side of the Sierra Nevada Mountains primarily near Bishop, California. Our purpose was to catch the aspens as close to their peek as possible. As you can see I think we were there at the right time. Two mornings catching the sunrise and hours wondering the aspen groves resulted in over 300 images each. Not sure when Mike will start posting his because he is still involved in process and posting images from his 7 week adventure in the Western states. But you will see a whole series of mine starting with this one.

PP: RAW image processed in Camera Raw and CS3, usual adjustments, sizing, sharpening and framing.

Beautiful fall colors. I like the diagonal composition and the out-standing tree that kind of breaks the line.

OH boy this is a sight for sore eyes! Stunning beauty Daniel! Excellent comp, love the diagonal look and feel to it! But most of all, that evening/morning light is just FABULOUS for things like this! ***sigh*** all my problems solved!

Beautiful color with the perfect BG to compliment the Aspens. Nice line flowing upward that makes the eye climb the mountain. Fantastic detail and outstanding POV.

These birch trees are very spectacular under the morning light. They illumintae very well the darker surroundings.

Indeed, the editorial choice of publishing on TL is hard at times (^_^). I do not shoot at anything, with the years I am more selective. But nevertheless , I still too nearly three hundred shots this afternoon during my little excursion. I will publish some of them too starting in the coming days. But Martine and me are heading for two more days of shooting and driving (^_^). Lots of clicking ahead as the weather will be fine, and the autumn colors are at their best in many places. Tomorrow , the Eastern Townships are on the program!

Love the golden leaves and fall light (can light have a season?!) in this image. Clear and well composed, with good use of space and the three main landscape areas. Well done:)
