[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
More from Pt. Lobos State Reserve, just south of Carmel on the California coast. This shot was taken from a cliff on the opposite side of a small cove, looking across to the steep rocky shore on the other side. I kept trying to catch one of the larger waves that would come along occasionally and make a big splash against the rocks, but they apparently know how to wait until you put your camera down:)

Hi Karen - this is a beautifully composed photo.

Is there any chance you can try this one at sunset with a long exposure on the waves and the evening colours? I think it would be great..
Cheers
DAvid

Hi Karen,

This is a nice shot. Excellent POV and composition.

It is a bit overexposed. It looks washed out and you lost the details of the waves.

Hi Karen
This one look likes normal Camera Raw settings. Simply wonderful composition - FG rock and BG town - well done. Nice contrast between the colors in the rock, the ocean, and the BG. And oh yes the sharpness is right on.

Dan

I like the construction of this shot and the nice balance in light and texture from fore- to background.
Well done

Hi Kari,
you sure have a lot nicer scenery than my (immediate) vicinity. Fine image. Best Janos

This is a classic composition Karen with very good balance. The view from the cliff is most attractive, there is good details on the rocks to the right, and the rushing waves provide an engaging feature. Best regards, Danilo

Hello Karen,
