[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
I found this pattern in the sandstone while exploring the coastal rocks and tide pools at Pt. Lobos recently. Without its natural context it seems to take on a different sense of scale that fascinates me. Maybe I'm just easily fascinated?:)

PP: standard RAW adjustments, tweaked contrast/saturation a bit, resized, sharpened, added border.

Fabulous capture of this pattern Karen.
The shadows play a great part here and I really like the earthy tones.
Nicely seen and composed.

I agree with you - if it wasn't for the stones at the top-right, this could be the ruins of an ancient city viewed from high above.
Well seen!

:-) soon

Hello Karen! Excellent contrast. Good light and shadow, very good sharpness. Good capture and frame. Well done!

I love everything 'sand-pattern' still fascinated by them! Great shadows and light, thanx for the beauty, M, (*_*)

Hello again
I fell a bit behind in my critiquing so I'm catching up.
Shadow provide depth to the ridges, need something to indicate proportion, maybe some seaweed. Well captured with good clarity my friend.

Dan

Take the stones at the top right out of the frame and this does become an interesting shot in understanding scale - is it an overhead shot of a bleak landscape, a rockface or simply patterns in sand from the sea? Well spotted and well presented.
Thanks for sharing
Mark

looks like some fortresses in the Arabian desert. nicely presented and framed. Janos

These rocks are always interesting to look at and I often wonder what causes parts of the rock to stand out. Cool shot!

Richard

A good find Karen and you captured the textures very well. Fine detail and minimal OE with just the right amount of sharpness,
David
