I came here in the early morning to photograph the sunrise. When I arrived, I found the moon just setting and so started shooting earlier than I had expected. The lens was stopped down to F16 for a long DOF with an exposure of about two minutes with the camera on a tripod.
This is a scan of an 8X10 black and white photo that was printed from 35mm black and white film. PP includes making it darker in PS7 using curves, doing some spotting with the clone tool, cropping and resizing.
Badwater is a basin in California's Death Valley, noted as the lowest point in North America, with an elevation of 282 feet (86 m) below sea level.
The site itself consists of a small spring-fed pool of water, however, the accumulated salts of the surrounding basin make it undrinkable, thus the name "Badwater". |
