[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
This is the column of the Long Beach Convention Center. The columns are exposed and behind it is the glass curtain wall. This column looks like it is just a decoration but it is structural. Here you see only part of it because the other part is inside the building. It is a composite column. It is on one side of the building from end to the other giving the building elevation a nice rhythm. The two round tubular shapes are part of the structural column. The two curving tubular pipes are just decorations. There is a flagpole shooting up between the two tubular shape pipes. The design is effective for this type of building.
