the B&W tone brings a new 'definition' to this lovely-coloured orchid. it's supposed to enhance the nice lines and patterns on the petals.

Very good macro of an orchid; I think it's a flower you like as much as roses ; they are perfect ; a little too much maybe.This shot is very sharp and nice; I wonder if I shouldn't prefer, however, see also its variety of colours.

It's unusual to see a macrophoto of a flower in W&B, I think the reason could be to focus more on the graphism than on colour. Actually the image is very good with all the shades of gray, so the experiment was a success.

Turning this orchid into B&W was a gret idea as you got got really good results.If you are using CS 3, clicking selective color and then white, would have enhanced the white even more.
