How handy to find the Cellphone Camera theme this week! During my recent hospital stay, my Blackberry Storm provided a way to entertain myself a bit when I started to feel better about three days after surgery. Although I hardly ever use its camera (only 3mp) I decided to try a few shots, never expecting to post them on TL...but the theme was unresistable:)

I'm so impressed with advances in modern medicine and the compassionate care I received. The House Clinic in Los Angeles is the best in the world for the treatment of acoustic neuromas, with patients coming from as far away as Turkey, Egypt, Argentina, and elsewhere, not to mention from all over the United States. At the guest house on the hospital campus, where I stayed before and after the surgery and hospitalization period, I met several other patients that came there for the same reason I did...and we became strong friends, supporting each other through the scary pre-op hours and the wobbly post-op rehab days. The healing atmosphere was incredible.

For those of you who are curious, I'll post a workshop image of the incision in my head, taken three days post-op. If you are squeemish, don't look.

Thanks to all of you that have sent greetings and support. I hope to start posting again, bit by bit, and will also try to catch up on critiques as well.

I really like the simple composition here Karen!! Looks great.. Maybe a bit of a play with levels and curves to make the 'taxi' a little brighter but I do like this shot..

Hi Karen,
Humourous title :). My Dad was confined to one of these for a while after he had his knee surgery recently. Very simple yet effective shot. I like the clean looking environment you've taken it in and the off-centred composition. Great entry for the theme.

TFS,
Scott.

Hi Karen

My goodness Karen I had no idea this was going on! I hope you are much better and best wishes on your recovery! Thanks for participating in the theme! This is a grand shot, so appropriate for you I guess!! Take care!

So your camera photo / phone camera, came in handy when bored in hospital Karen...
The incision looks good Karen - and I wish you quick and safe healing from your operation.
My grandson had a similar scar after a head injury a few years back and we were amazed at how quickly the scars disappeared under his hair.
All the best for a speedy recovery
Janice

Hi Karen:
This is a super little shot, well composed and simple. It probably touches many whoever needed something like this,I have made a few of these pics myself. The quality for a cell cam is outstanding and I am really beginning to wonder if a large megapixel camera is necessary for the likes of this site..... I'm happy to know you are out and about and feeling good enough to post here.... congrats......Roman:0)

Zow! The workshop photo bring a clear level of reality to what you went through! Congratulations for your on-going recovery.

Richard
