One day a few years ago, I was traveling on See Canyon Road near San Luis Obispo in California, a rambling out-of-the-way detour I enjoy once in a while for its stunning views of rolling hills and canyons. I rounded the bend of a tight s-curve cutting through hilltop pasture land, with beef cattle watching my progress, and suddenly my brain called out, "What?! Is that a golf shoe?" My foot reacted quickly by moving to the brake pedal to stop the car. My camera jumped up and down in the passenger seat, exclaiming, "Let's go see! Let's go see!" Well, I guess you can figure out what happened next. The result is posted here. If anyone out there can explain how or why this golf shoe ended up out in the middle of nowhere, sitting on a large fence post wound with barbed wire, please put this mystery to rest and fill us in. ;) Meanwhile, I've enjoyed my trip down memory lane by scanning this old 35mm photo, sharpening a bit to try to restore some of the image quality lost in the scan, framing, and resizing for TL.

Hi Karen- what a great shot! I have tried golfing a few times, but decided that I can go to work and at least be paid to be frustrated- I'm not going to pay good money for frustration ;) Thanks for sharing this one- I'm still laughing at the story that has to be behind this!

Best wishes
Steve

Hello Karen

ohhh this image made me smile and then the great note made me laugh.. Looks like one of theose 80's posters ads that had witty slogans.

Best I could do as follows...

'My handicap? Woods and irons'

Regards and Thanks

Janey

Interesting! I love finding stuff like this. Nice find and nicely presented. If you don't mind I added this to a theme of mine regarding discarded footwear. Thanks for sharing.

Love and Peace Always
