Hi, Roger. Nice portrait of the Bass player. The photograph is incredibly sharp with good composition, expression and DOF. Including the equipment in the background gives stature to the profesionalism of the performer. Good post. Cheers and TFS.

Hello Roger!
From all three pictures of Mario, I prefer this one.
Nice in balck/white, good light, contrast, detail, perspective!
Best regards!
Lili

PS - what kind of music Mario play?

Hi Roger,
Excellent details in your friends face and his base. I like how you composed this shot. The lighting is really good here as well. Nice work.
Regards,
Kevin

Okay, this one I can picture as a CD cover. Great focus on Mario and the neck of the bass. Great B&W tones.
Thanks for the info yesterday Roger. I did some searching and was able to hear some of Mario's music. Great stuff!

Hi Roger,
Again a fine capture of your friend with his 'toy', the whole atmosphere of the shot is very musical beginning with his outfit, his instrument and the background. I think it's not so necerssary to say - technically excellent as always. TFS!
Greetings,
Kristof

Hi Roger,
If the play of Mario is like his look, the precision of his execution must be outstanding!
Between this one and your first, my heart hesitates! This one is more conventional, the other more challenging..
Both are excellent!
Bravo! Annie

Another very nice b&w. I still think the first one is my favorite. This is also a nice pose though. Very nice detail and contrast. TFS

Aye! There you go! I like the Bass right as sharp as he is! Nice pose, smiling would have been silly here! Your BW shots are amazing Roger!

Hi Roger,

Mario looks like he is seeking our approval in this one -- perhaps, for the portrait, or maybe for his CD content. I like the fact that his studio equipment has been deemphasized, and his bass is prominent. If you are still taking more shots, I would suggest that: 1) you isolate Mario and his bass, 2) keep Mario's look in the second portrait, and 3) keep it in color.

Regards,
John

Hi, Roger -
So far, this is my top choice for the CD cover! Once the sunglasses are gone, you can see how interesting Mario's face really is. The background includes a rack of his equipment but otherwise is not too cluttered. Very sharp details of his face, hands, jacket and guitar, and the light is very good across his face. He reminds me a bit of the late John Entwistle of The Who. Great stuff.

very nice portrait, good pose with his string bass....he looks cool guy. Good bg ... unclattered. Very good expressions and features on his face.
