[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
I ws going through my files when I discovered several rolls of B/W film that I had not had proof sheets made from, so today I retrieved them from the shop and have picked about a dozen images that are worth showing here on the Trek sites. All three sites tonight have an image posted of Yosemite, all three different images.
I walked from Olmstead Point down the valley towards Half Dome for a couple of hours and took this image somewhere near the end of the hike, if I remember correctly by looking at the shot. I calculated the shot a little darker than what I would have liked so I adjusted several aspects of this and have decided to accept this image as the final attempt of my battle to show Half Dome. My use of a Red Filter may not have been the correct choice, wrong hour, wrong lighting, I'm not sure!
The clouds are man made......
Have a great weekend,
Steve

Hi Steve,

To me the effect you have created by using a very high contrast on this image is like a Pen and Ink line drawing, It' a very interesting effect (if a little difficult to focus my eyes on), but I think the manmade sky isn't quite in keeping with the rest of the high contrast shot and competes a little with the picture (maybe a really moody black/white sky would also help)

Andrew

Amazing place, with a good POV. Personally I like the high contrast effect you've achieved here, and those clouds look quite natural (and ominous) to me.

Howdy Steve!
