First; you are more than correct on the Tioga Pass, awesome!
On the photo: great shot (not to been seen when only going to the valley) of this magnificent NP, just like i remember the place myself. Great one for the theme with the perfect reflection in the water.

Hi Dan,
This is where you have been hiding. My daughter and her family are planning a visit to Yosemite this summer I will be sure to show her this lovely photo. The reflection of the lush green pine trees is very striking in the calm surface of this shallow lake. The vivid blue sky make a beautiful contrast to the green.

Thanks for the mini-vacation today:) A peaceful and natural scene...food for the soul. The reflection gives us an extra measure of green trees to enjoy. Good composition and flow through the image. Very pleasant!

nice place to make a photo, good light, colours are a bit weird IMO, hope you don't mind i say balance of colours is not in my tastes :)

Hello Daniel, (I have only just connected Daniel and Boonie, a bit slow on the uptake I'm afraid!)

This just reminded me of a shot from a National Geographic! Now there's a compliment!

I just like it! I think it is beautifully composed, I like the way the mountain is standing on tiptoe to peep over the tall trees and the refections in the mirrorlike lake are very good!

Not creative! hmm I dont think that matters at all. When you post an image as beautiful as this who needs creaitvity, thats what photography is all about.. sometimes we need to work and change a shot and another time a scene says it all.. as indeed this does...absolutely stunning view, really sharp detail and colour and the whole image is superbly balanced. Lovely posting my friend

A lovely postcard of Yosemite National Park . perfect POV for the ultimate composition and light. Quiet and cloud free day for a visit and photo shoot. The water surface , the reflections and even the bottom of the lake are just perfectly clear .

Hi Dan,

When nature presents you with such beauty, you have to capture it!
I did see a documentary on Discovery Channel about mega vulcanic eruptions that could happen here - ah well, nature's disasters can happen everywhere.
We hope to visit this area some time with a RV and I will indeed remember the Pass!
