| [Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note |
I have been shooting dance performances semi-professionally for over four years now. I have found this to be the most challenging, yet one of the most least understood genres of photography for even experienced photographers to understand. I am constantly experimenting with different techniques, euipment and camera angles to make this effective. I am somewhat of a "mad scientist" at work in my photo lab, the dance theaters. Most of my photos are taken during live performances where flash photography is prohibited.
These dancers are members of Denver's world-class modern and African dance group, the Cleo Parker Robinson Dance Ensemble. This photo was taken in a small theater-in-the-round and trying to eliminate background clutter was a real challenge. I look forward to meeting many Trek Lens photographers and sharing photos with you. |

Well done, Stan. I've been taking photos at performances, too, and usually the lights are changing so quickly a decent shot is the result of luck more than anything else. Good job here--it looks like you caught their legs at the peak of the arc.
this is NOT a critique I find what you do
inspiring, I'm from france, and have discovered
a "street" dance style that is beginning
to inspire more than a few...
