[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Barack Obama begins his term as the 44th president of the USA, on January 20. I liked this 'street art' on a brick wall, in downtown Denver, with the "Prez" tag at left.

"During the 110th Congress, he helped create legislation regarding lobbying and electoral fraud, climate change, nuclear terrorism, and care for U.S. military personnel returning from combat assignments in Iraq and Afghanistan."

Good. I actually met a returned soldier from Iraq, in Denver, (I think he was a 'marine'), who was suffering from deep pyschological trauma. He was discharged honorably, for injuries sustained in combat, & thought the government wasn't doing nearly enough, to help him out financially. The only advice I could give him, was to stay in touch with his colleagues, because they were there, (in Iraq) & understand what it was like.

nb: please do not interpret this as an attack on the US (or GWB), & its decision to commit troops to Iraq. There are pros & cons to both sides of the argument, & too many people rush in to criticize, without knowing or even caring about all the facts. Most rational people can differentiate, between Americans, & George Bush. Americans have now voted GWB & the Republican Party, out of office.

Wasn't there any way you could have got a shot of this from further back? I'm very aware of the perspective of the bricks, it would be good to see a flatter version.

Failing that - Photoshop could offer a solution in its 'perspective' function?

oh...I'm back! I have commented on LOTS of Murals today. I think they are my favorite of all! This is very nice. While I don't care much for him as our president, the picture is very nice. And yes! America is a melting pot of cultures, creeds and ethnicity. You CANNOT look at our national news and believe ANY of it. Nor can you peg what you see on TV as American. We are much different. TV is fantasy! Americans are just like you and me. We get up, we work, we love our families and MOST of us never get within 100 miles of our home town!
oh..sorry for the speech! HAHA! I get mine in before Obama does!
