Self portrait- work in a series. This started with the first, and has grown from there. I try to keep them as unposed as possible... as in this one, this is taken in the bathroom doorway, and i often stand and think like this.
the lighting is evening sun through the window, and in colorado, the sun is very intense. In the evening, the light becomes very directional in my space, lending itself to this high light/dark contrast and the deep shadows. |

Hello
Nice to meet you. I really love B&W photos - especially these taken in low and high key effect. As far as your portrait concerned I like in what way intense sunlight builds the shape of your face. Your photo emanates very interesting, mysterious mood...
Well done. Personally I would reduce hihgliths range on you face but your idea is interesting too.
Thanks for sharing and I'd like to invite you into the world of painting with light and shadows - my gallery.
take care,
dimeola

I really like this Psalm. The lighting adds a dramatic feel to the portrait and the earring brings together the two areas of light. Very well done, B
