Macro shot of a bee upon mint blossoms.
natural backlighting... shot on macro setting, with the auto focus turned off. was very difficult to get as any movement causes a blur in the shot, so trying to get a still bee combined with no wind [or even the slightest breeze] and no shakes whatsoever in my hands. no tripod was used as i needed to be able to move the camera freely and quickly.
another part of the macro bee shot series that i have taken is that i am allergic [and a slight fear of] to bees. so allowing myself to be surrounded by them, then photographing them.... much less getting as close as i do to them [within 2 cms] to get a shot. a way of facing my own fears and bringing them to light so to speak. fear into art. |
