A chickadee makes do without a post on the feeder and clings to the side of the opening. Taken from the tripod and with a 580ex II flash mounted on the camera.This is at my feeder in my backyard.

Beautifully composed, tight and clean shot - the depth of field is very shallow but perfectly managed here. Your lens is at maximum zoom here, just as well you had the tripod or there could've been motion blur already.
