[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
I am still at Truckee River in Reno, Nevada. This is a photo of pergola or arbor at the promenade bordering the Truckee River. It is early sunset and the sun is low. The slanted surface of the pergola's wood strips are very bright, almost white and glary. I turned this picture to B&W as most of the objects in the background are dark and the colors are not interesting.

PP Work: Adjust levels control; Increase saturation; Convert to B&W by Channel Mixer; Duplicate layer to darken and blur the background, then erased the foreground area; Adjust levels again; Sharpen by USM; Remove noise; Crop; Frame; Reduce size for posting.

Beautiful picture, you know how to move
with colors and he knows the hour that has them
that to use. I admire you a lot his vision
in this picture in using B/W.
Congratulations, great job!

It is definitely a really good BW, in my opinion the squared shape downgrade the shot, I would have choosed a different crop.

have a nice day

Marco

Well composed, a nice b&w photography for me, very interesting those white stripes.

I like the horizontal and vertical lines. Good composition. The pigeon and ball on top of the pergola adds a nice soft dimension to the scene.

Nice study in lines, André! Good idea to turn it into B&W. I think the dark area at the bottom could have been cropped to make it equal with the right dark area. Other than that, a very nice image!

Very nice graphical shot, Andre! Not much to add to all of the comments already written and I agree with them. The pigeon is a great addition and the bottom black part is a bit distracting. Otherwise, this is a very interesting picture. Well done!

this is a confirmation of your emerging style, Andre. less or no people at all but more of graphism! sort of going the ISO way direction...

Hi Andre, beautiful BW photo, I like the tones and the contrast. Your pov is very well done. And the pigeon completes the scene.

Very well done. Take care, Yan

Great choice to turn this b&w. It has a great impact.

congratulations

Gareth
