This is a photo of a crane. Some construction people call it the "big boom". this is the type of crane that can be extended up depending on the height of the structure being constructed. On this one, the operator's cockpit (at lower left corner)is three stories high above ground level. The diagonal member and the cockpit can turn around 360 degrees and can lift structural members up in the air and placed in its proper place in the proposed building.

This was taken above a construction site in Reno, Nevada beside the truckee River.

PP Work: Adjust levels control; Increase saturation; Sharpen; Remove noise; Crop; Reduce file size for upload.

Hi Andre,
I like the way you fill the photo with the crane against a sky blue background. An impressive piece!

PERFECT comp, stark, clean and crisp image, A BEAUTY, (*_*)

Lovely graphic composition, I love how the crane contrasts the blue sky. You have taken it at a good angle. Veyr weell done. TFS

Very interesting subject Andre'. That blue sky is amazing. Good job with the colour saturation.

Funny how an industrial object that we see everyday or take for granted can become a piece of art. Perfect composition, and the deep blue sky works perfectly here. Great catch, André!

Hi Andre,
impressive photo, very good compo. The crane colours contrast very well with the sky. If I was taking this photo, I'd wait perhaps for the hook to go below lower frame of the photo. But... on the other hand with the hook and rope below it the crane looks like a huge stork, with his beak down, searching for frogs. Just thinking aloud :-) tfs
