[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
This is for my friend, Larry (lrw1966) who is taking a break at present from TL and whom I am really missing.
I hope it is only a break and not permanent.

In the high desert of New Mexico (6000 ft above sea level +) the air is clean, and there is lots of big sky; allowing for fairly impressive sunsets such as this. i just caught this before the sun went down. The sky was really picking up the red from the sun and the FG by this time was in deep shadow.

We were driving back to Albuquerque from Santa Fe when all of a sudden the sky turned red. I pulled the car over to the side of the road, hauled out the camera, managed to avoid the traffic and snapped this shot!
PP work
Straightened a bit, cropped,a tad of saturation and frame

Hi Joni,
The sky looks to be on fire. Wonderful mix of warm colours. Clear outline on the mt. range in the b/g too.

wonderful sunset, i like it. Bravissima Mari

hello Joni,

This is one of the most molten sunsets that I have ever seen! The sky is like a furnace creating hot HOT temperatures!
I love how the land is displayed as layers of ever lightening layers of grey.
Just great!

Kind regards,
Bev :-)

Hello Joni.

Regards from Jan

Welcome Joni,
red sky and night it's a beautiful early night/sunset picture. Clear air and space connected with red clouds symbolize sadness.

HI Joni
Sunsets are always fascinating no matter where you are.
This is a great post for Larry who unfortunately has asked his account be deactivated.
You can find him at Trekearth along with so many who have left, I am also there and will look out for your posts.
Good shot
Dot

Hi Joni,

Nice sunset, where we can feel a lot of depth. We can see three plan of depth because you controled the exposure. The dramatic clouds fill well the upper section of your image.

Nice shot and TFS.
