| This is the Church of St Francis of Asissi in Taos New Mexico. I like the 'towering' chruch at the background humbled by the statue of St Francis of Asissi at the foreground. I used Ilford 400XP 2 super film , a red filter to increase the contrast and to darken the sky. Developed this photo myself and later scaned it. I did increased the contrast and sharpened the image a little using photoshop. |

wow, very good shot, i like it, and i add to my theme of "arte sacro"
Nice composition, Hilda! Good use of the depth of field to maintain just a bit of blur on the church. Nice high contrast B&W. Well done!

Hi Hilda.
I love the use of the b&w. it fits perfectly in the composition and it emphasises the textures even more.
Congratulations.
Luci
Ha Hilda,
Good picture.
The title and the angle from where you've shot it, threathing dark sky and the overall grain, super.
greets Jerry
I love the dark sky, as well as, the contrast in textures of the lighter objects (the smooth statue and the grainy adobe church fascade). This is a wonderful effect I hope to emulate. Thank you for the idea.
