Spring Break, 1976
On the road from Las Cruces to Silver City, New Mexico.
The Steve Miller Band (Fly Like an Eagle) on the car stereo.
Yesterday I was listening to Sharam's (Deep Dish Toronto #25 Afterclub) techno remix of the Neville Brothers' cover of "Fly Like an Eagle" and had a strong Proustian flashback to this moment, riding in the car with Susan and friends on a spring break camping trip. Luckily I found this shot of it in my archives!
Susan was driving (a fleetwood stationwagon), and had these cool reflecto sunglasses. Very 70's!

About the shot: B&W Tri-X film. I tried scanning the neg, but it just did not scan in well (B&W does not scan well with a negative scanner). Instead printed it on Ilford multigrade film with a high contrast filter, then scanned in the print for posting.
As always, workshops welcome should you have ideas on improving this print.
