Whitewater Canyon, New Mexico
Spring Break, 1976
Susan, warming by the fire. It was a cool evening. We had just arrived from a long drive up from Las Cruces, NM, and built a fire. Susan and I and a few other friends were just relaxing, listening to the canyon at night. The song of the river. The breeze in the pines. The pop of the fire.

About this shot. This is a negative scan (Kodacolor 100) using a Nikon Coolscan 5000 scanner.
As I mention in my Intro, I had an accident years ago that involved a coma and the longterm consequence of that is a constant battle with memory and forgetting (all these years later). Photography is, for me, an ally in that effort, and the stories around each photo are my way of remembering my own past.
