This Rose is from Portland Rose Garden. It had an appeal of its own and when you viewed it from the side it just did not look that great.
So I decicded to take a handheld capture from the top.
You will notice the automatic EXIF data shows that I captured it at shutter speed 30/1s, and that too handheld. The advantage of going that low on the shutter speed was that I will get more ambient light in order to get those shades, shadows, and texture.
Now I did some HPP work. So why do this on such a beautiful rose?
The answer is that some time you may come accross a great rose (any subject for that matter) but the petals were broken due to strong winds and hence it did not look that good. Doing a HPP hels you to take that distraction away, may be make it look like more of an art work. And that exactly what I did here :)
Regards
David

Nice work David. You really filled up the frame on this. I like too that the central petal are lighter. There is some blurriness/softness though in the photo. I guess it is because of the fact that it was taken handheld. But, then, overall, it is a nice work. TFS.
