This is the view in my backyard at sunrise in October. This happened the day after my birthday and my son saw it first from his room which faces the South. My son came running up to my room all excited about the light and made me grab my camera to take shots. This is just one of many that I took. Just picture it...a 42 year old woman in her nightgown and slippers romping around in the backyard taking pictures of a glorious view. ha! ha!

What I love about this view on the mountain is that it changes so quickly like a super model posing for the camera. Every shot I took was amazingly different than the last. At the top of the photo you will see blue sky. This is not a normal site where I live in the last days of Fall. It is very gray and wet as Fall turns to Winter. This is why all the excitement from my son....It is a site to see the sun at this time of year.

Take Care!

Hi Bettina
Wonderful magical scene and right in your backyard, WOW! Well seen by your son (maybe a futur member of TL) and well captured by mother. Maybe we will see more shots of that slendid moment... Happy to see you are posting again.
Thanx.

Paul

Hi Bettina,

Great Backlighting, I like it.

It reminds me of an Alien ship, coming through the woods to scare the living beejeezes out of anyone who sees it! HAHA! Nice shot Bettina and hope you are fully recovered and back to shooting again!

Hi Bettina,
Great shot! I, too, am from the Willamette Valley and know too well how rare the sun can be this time of year!

Hi Bettina,
I reall like the effect of the rising sun through the trees and I can understand why you ran outside to capture it. Just a little idea when shooting into the sun, try to underexposure your camera, so you get better exposure on the brights. Just for fun I did a little WS on your photo

Niek
