Cape Arago Lighthouse

| [Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note |
This was the third lighthouse we saw on a day trip up the coast north of Port Orford.
We had to go back and forward along the costal road to find the lighthouse and a good spot to capture it. But we finally did. This was the only lighthouse that we could not visit because the area is fenced off so it had to do with a distant view. This view did however allow me to include a sense of the location of the lighthouse.
While taken some photos a guy approached me and told me that the more famous POV for this lighthouse was further to the right. He did mention a treacherous walk along the edge of the cliff through a thick forest. Wearing just flip-flops and shorts I decided to stay where I was and do whit what I saw.
I used a 0.9 ND filter to slow down the shutter speed, so to get movement in the choppy waves. I also used a 0.6 ND grad filter to balance the exposure. Since speed was important in this photo I used the smallest aperture I could get. Knowing that this could result in a slight dip in sharpness

Hi Niek
I never made it to Oregon, so nice to see what I missed. Superb motion blur of the water, in this charming seascape, with good colour, saturation & framing. Tfs!
Hi Niek,
De lange sluitertijd "maakt" deze plaat. Prachtig dat bijna schuimende water. Perfecte scherpte op de rotsen en de vuurtoren in de verte. Een fijne aantralkkelijke compositie, een mooie foto voor aan de wand.
