[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Just experimenting with a slow shutter speed here (shot at 1/20th of a second, hand held at a focal length of 73mm using the Canon 70-200 2.8L IS lens).

The girl is in Color Guard and is waving a green flag in front of her. The green flag is really quite "opaque" and only appears translucent here because of the speed of the flag and the slow shutter speed. I was amazed at how much everything else could be frozen in the image (her upper body and face) while the rest was in motion.

This workshop is just to show that the flags, shot at a faster shutter speed, truly are opaque.
