[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
This was the sunset one night when we were camping over the 4th this year. I thought it was quite pretty and the colors are a little unusual.

a very serene photo woth pretty colors I would prefer the sun to be a little lower on the horizon but as is it's also quite pretty.

Beautiful scene, Dayna. The colors are indeed rich and very pretty. I like the reflection of the sun in the water as well.

To follow up your discussion with snuggleaphagus, I would say you are correct to point out that the horizon is near the center, so you should probably have aimed the camera upward a little to bring the horizon to the lower third, especially if it captured some additional clouds in the sky. However, since the sun was "properly" placed at the left third, the composition still works. And - a much bigger "however" here - while the rule of thirds is an important compositional tool, there are times when it can be successfully broken. A thorough understanding of it is necessary when composing your images, but don't be beholden to it.

Well done!

Beautiful colors.
As you said, with each photo and comment, you learn something.
In my eye, it is perfect as it is. Not too much sky and not too much ground.

Hi Dayna,

I like your photo. Nice red colors, but it is a little bit unsharp.

Hello Dayna,
Hermosa puesta de sol; los colores y el paisaje transmiten una calma calidez e invitan al reposo y la contemplación.
