[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Another picture from my trip to Seattle. My brother has a neat lamp in his living room that's about four or five feet tall and has a textured cloth as a shade. I took this picture in a snap while walking past the lamp, using the macro mode in my camera. The rest of the living room was very dark when I took the picture, but the lamp itself was on which is why the background is so dark -- the brightness of the lamp quickly exposed the image leaving the background underexposed and dark. I like the way it turned out.

Post processing: lowered brightness a tad, upped the contrast just a little, and added an unsharp mask to bring out some of the highlighted areas of the lamp. The picture is naturally monotone.
