[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
This image is two different exposures. The church was shot at night. I metered the spire and the church separately, combined the layers, added a layer mask, and used the airbrush to paint in the spire. I then added a levels adjustment layer, used pro contrast in Nik Color Efex, and added a gradient layer and blended in overlay.

great shot! I like the POV and the colors, it makes a special mood to this church. Well done

Very strange image. For me it adds to the mystery of churches and their architecture. Churches have design aspects that evolve very slowly of the centuries and all sorts of mystisim is involved.

Most churches post Norman Conquest in England (1066AD) are based on a cross footprint, with the spire located at the top of the cross, kind of like the spire is reaching to heaven where the head of Jesus would have layed on the cross and where the alter is in churches.

So, your lighting effects on the spire of this church makes it seem that the church is a mechanical communication device calling out to heaven.

Don't know if this makes any sense, it's just how I see it
