Yes... I agree with you, I always try to used something simple and try to make them look extra ordinary... this is great!!! Excellent POV and composition, I like your DOF, details and sharpness too. You have archive it! One little nit-picks.... if I were you, I will try to get another angle that is not against the sun but back face the sun, then I think your shot will come out much better, that's just me. :) Overall, excellent work!!!

Very nicely captured, Philip. I really like your POV looking up at the thistles; I might have liked a tiny more space at the top to give us a bit more blue to surround this plant. The light is very nice as are the colours. Nice choice of DOF. Well done!

Depth of field mostly creates a composition! You have presented this one well. It might work better using only one or three!

simple and effective abstract, also well composed. loved the contrast between the crystal clear foreground, with a lot of detail and the dreamy, blurry background. good shot!
