This is Melissa...I shot it a couple days ago. PP includes an adjustment in contrast a bit and increased saturation in order to keep the original look of the picture (due to the fact that pictures lose saturation after posting them online.) I also sharpened it a tad. Other than that, nothing else. I let a little bit of the sun hit the lens in order to get the flare and crazy look of this picture. I used a small reflector to light the face up. There was some wind blowing which helped me get the blowing hair effect. Check out the workshop posting to see the same type of picture without the lens flare. I was able to get some amazing pictures of Melissa because she was a natural...
P.S. Blotchy spots next to her head are due to the sharpening...would have fixed it if I had seen it before uploading...oh well! Also, if you don't like the style of this picture...I really don't care. I stand behind my picture and my work. It's a new style and I enjoy it. I don't get on your pictures and say how old school and boring they are so get off my back. |

I'm sorry, but I just don't think this works at all. I don't think the lens flare works and there is too much brightness/overexposure. There's also a funny patch to the left of her ear as we look - no idea what that is. Sorry, maybe others will disagree, but I don;t think this is good at all. Which is a shame as she's a pretty girl.
Very interesting work and idea!Nice lihght and girl my friend.I like it!
Regards.
A.
the ws is the pic you should have posted, in my opinion.
you say your model is a natural yet you nearly obliterate her face with needless sunflare.
you may think that i'm old fashioned but i'm glad i am.
sorry
Interesting idea to make use of the lens flare in this way, but I have to say that out of this picture and the one in the WS it's the WS which strikes me as being the better picture. The OE in the hair, artifacts from the sharpening and the contrasting colours all detract from the the beauty in her face.
Thanks for sharing
Mark
Perfect!
I love the back light shots!
The lens flare is magic.
The colours are great, though you do notice that extra noise that appears after saturation.
Very well done!
The only minor for me is the cropped hands ... can you feel it too?
Tim and/or Philip,

Wow, a bit defensive....perhaps you should report these VICIOUS people to the administration. HOW DARE Kilted-Arab not like your photo!
In case you haven't noticed: This is a comment and not a critique.
