[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Most of Yellowstone is climax softwood (pine) forest. But in the northern reaches of the park there are some areas covered with hardwood trees. Here I caught some aspen in soft sidelight that I thought showed the season's majesty.

Hi Mike,
Superbe composition! How I like the long trees going to search light and sun in their top. Very good and natural colors. Your photo is different of usual autumn view. I like its minimalism and your perfect use of light. Very well done! Annie

:) OK

Excellent POV using the darker pines as a backdrop and the red hilltop as a highlight. I really like the effect of the soft light as it enhances the image of winter approaching.

Good colours and lines. TFS. K2

Hi Mike,
Beautiful fall colors in this landscape. Fall is gonna suck here from the summer long drought. Colors will be muted and leaves will just fall off. This looks great. Just a little envious.

Hello Mike !

Shame on me ! I saw yours from my office ( at work ! ) but did not have time to write a comment. And finally forgot to write to you later on.

I posted a few of these birch trees last year on a previous travelogue like here for example. I like a touch of bright color in a dull environment . It has often more punch than a whole colorful shot. This one is a perfect example.

By the way this one is certainly an underrated image ! Keep on the great work !
Robert
