~A Year on TL~

Today marks the year of being on TL!
Thank you for your visits and time spent on the imagery.
Much appreciation and respect for this land of TL and the beautiful people who reside here.

This image was acquired this weekend while our friends were down from Ocala, FL for a stay. It was a wonderful 3 days.
I dedicate this image to the 1 year of being on TL and at the sametime to my great friend William for our musical journey's together. The journey is moving along in a wonderful unfolding manner.

Another image from my office with the morning sun peeeking in through the vertical blinds, touching the instruments William and I use for our musical excursions.
These spectacles/glasses(Williams) were resting upon the Ensoniq keyboard, just waiting to be composed through the viewfinder.
So the situation was taken advantage of and a picture conceived.
The scene did prove difficult for the light rays from the window were coming in quite hot. To capture the spectacles and the light with the right exposure proved somewhat difficult.
I hope the many shots paid off to arrive at this image to share with everyone.
It was a great weekend.....Had the chance to see some interesting electronic musicians at this great place in Deland, FL.
Great environment and atmosphere.

William and I have finally acquired better means of recording our audio excursions here at my place of residence.

My fiancee, Melissa, found her wedding dress this weekend for our wedding in September. Thank you Robyne(Williams wife) for joining Melissa on her dress adventures.
So all was a great weekend and very productive.
This image reperesents a lot and I hope you enjoy its view.

pp-acquired from RAW. Had to crop the right side some for better composition in my eyes. Slight amount of light/shadows adjustment. A bit of neat image and Sharpen edges.
No USM on this image for it was disturbing the hot spots from the lighting too much. Simple frame and signature.

Thanks everyone for a great time with TL and a continued great time on TL!

ps-I understand some of the comments as far as removing the buttons/numbers at the top left corner of the composition for a more classic look. This I did have in mind.....except I think a top crop would compromise the integrity of the image.
This board has been with me/us for about 10+ years. William and I began with this board and the numbers are integral for using the fullness of this board.

Oh yeah! Very good light and shaddow effect Michael. Angle, sharpnes are very beautiful! lots of good details in your picture. Love it!!

Very creative composition! Low lighting (just one or two rays) gives a mysterious atmosphere. Very sharp (we can see clearly the windows through the glasses)!

lighting is superb and i love the reflection of the glasses. maybe, imho, the buttons on top right should be removed just to retain and feel the classy look. overall, it's just great! tfs and best wishes!

Thanks Michael to bring us your way to make photography. An excellent idea to mentionned it. It means that all of us at TL are important in your life. You are too, have a nice day for this celebration.
I like the photography you choose to undersign the evenement. I like the ambiance and the tones.

10/10, Michael. The only thing I would have considered is removing the lettering from the keyboard in the top right corner. This would have given a touch more classic look. Then again, you may have a loyalty to the brand that would stop you from doing that, so this is enturely a matter of personal choice.

Wedding? Congratulations! Have any GOOD photographer to assist? You might find it difficult to be at both ends of the gear... ;)

The reflections on the lenses really add to the richness and beauty of the shot. Good frame.

And you treat us with a superb image on your anniversary! Great light, and nice play on the diagonals. The set up is great and so is the composition. It's been a real pleasure to have you on board, Michael. Your photography, your notes, your critiques and comments have always been of top quality. Bring us more, please!!!

Thanks you for this wonderful shot, I am a (former) musician and I have that subjective approach to the photo, but I think it is very universal and you managed to show us that closeness to an instrument in a very nice and subtle way, congratulations! Very nice still for the 1st anniversairy, Michel. Amazing lights and monochrome fits well to the over-all mood of your work. Pattern of diagonals adds a lot of tension, stunning. Yes, still awaiting someone to start playing again.

Congratulations on your fist year on TL. You have graced us with some awesome shots. As you know, your shadows from your blinds have always been my favourite photos. So, this one with the piano and the blind reflections is just as great as the others. Well done.

This a very nice photo for your 1 year anniversary with TL, Michael. I like the composition, and the refelctions in the glasses. All in all, I just enjoy the image and find it enticing to think about even when I'm not looking at it directly.

Happy 1st anniversary, Michael. It has been great having you on the site and I have enjoyed your thoughtful comments as well as you beautiful picture. This is the perfect picture to celebrate your 1st anniversary as I think it is a good representation of yourself: the musicien as well as the photographer who has a particular talent for using light & shadows very effectively to create beautiful imagery. Excellent and to the pleasure of seeing more of your work in the next year!

Happy Bithtday! What i like mostly is the harmony in the reflection of the glasses. Lines stay in the same way then other made by the keys of the instrument! Excellent setting!

Being a new person to TL and a beginner at photography, I rally admire this photo. I like everything about it - the idea, composition, colours and especially this nostalgic atmosphere which I feel. Well done!

So you really are an all-rounder, Michael ;o).
I think you could have cloned out the buttons in the right top part easily, keeping the crop you chose. I love the reflection in the glasses and the light on the keyboard.

Very fine imagery here. The sharp light and the placement of the glasses are just right. On a technical note, I feel the highlights are overblown, a common occurence with high contrast images such as this. The texture of the wood is lost in the harshness of that light and is not easily recoverable in post since the original color data is not there to begin with. Better to exposure compensate to preserve highlight details. Anyway well done.
