Even water smiles when coffee is around. The magic of coffee ... :)

Setup: blue CD, coffee bean, water drops, and white paper with a big smiley drawn on it (unfortunately, I can't draw, so my smiley doesn't have proportionate eyes :().

PP: crop, frame, slight color adjustment and dirt removal.

This is drop of water!?
I were shure that you have put some blue glass rock for aquarium or plants arrangement. I like the result. Something minimalist. Just one bean... Not enough for a very dark and strong coffee :)

Ooops...

Very interesting and a great impact. While this challange is over, I would experiment a bit more with the idea and come up with a stronger composition. But then I see others like this compo, so this may be personal. Nice anyway! Maybe include two more coffee beans hanging into/our of the frame?

What a great effect you have got here, Simple but really clever too, I did not even notice the smile at first, then when you do the shot becomes even more interesting. Lovely colours and a great composition.

Super shot Katya. Stunning! 3 water drops - good number, better than 2 or 4. You show it all so well. Perfect PP work.
But what is the white line at the lower right? I see a very fine line around the photo but it is larger there.

What a great idea Ekaterina.

I can't believe a camera actualy took this photo, it's so sharp, and detailed I'd have thought it was made through some sort of design art program. GREAT WORK. And I mean it, the detials are perfect, and I didn't even notice the unproportionate eyes... I still dont! This photo is really, really lovely. The blue and brown, great contrast, and very vivid!

Perfect! A coffee grain, for a triple shade of three shades with three drops with three smiles with three smiles more, and it is all in blue and coffee. It's maddening. Rafa.

Thank you for your comment to my pic. I have been putting pics on TE for the last month or so and I have been finding it a obvious at times. I have been struggling to get started here (TL), I don't know why, because I am normally more interested in the abstract. Your picture here has sparked my inspiration and has presented an endless range of possibilities - probably more so than any other picture I have seen yet.

It is not the best picture I have seen, I could comment on composition, exposure, depth of field, the lighting sources or the tea stain to the left (the smiley acid face, however, is inovative!).

What is does do, is tell me to get up off my arse and create images instead of waiting for the image to come to me. We can all recognise an excellent landscape when we see it, if we are willing to get up at dawn and photograph it numerous times and with numerous exposure AND use HDR s/w we will be blessed with a reasonable picture. BUT your image tells me that there is another process in photography that I have not begun to explore - conceptualisation (I know it is a bit late at night to be coming up with words with more than 5 syllables).

So thank you for your picture - even though I will not be partaking in your late night smiley caffine delerium (as I am off to bed soon).

You've had plenty of feed back for this, so I expect you won't even get round to seeing this one, so for now good night, thank you and good luck.
