Oregon Coast Sunset

I love the mountains, but I also love the coast. Here's a shot I took in Oregon back in 1980 at the start of a cross-country bike trip. (I cycled up the coast of Oregon, Washington, and Vacnouver Island, then turned inland through BC and Alberta, hopped a train from Medicine Hat to Winnipeg, then biked down through Minnesota, Wisconsin, and Michigan.)
I think this was taken near Bandon at the very start of the trip.
Scanned from a 35mm negative. Some cloning, curve and color adjustments, and a sharpen. |

I liked the atmosphere there, you got it well
The stumps in the far adds the wanted atmosphere to it.
Hi Mike,
such memories are one of the nicest things in our lives! I am getting back to my old photos from time to time and it makes me feel better... younger for sure! LOL
I like your photo - great contrast of dark (black!) rocks against the sea and the sky with setting sun. I'd crop this photo differently though: cutting out all of the sky above last layer of clouds and 80% of dark space in the bottom would give the photo with much different impact I guess. tfs

Well done. It is always hard to take a picture into the sun, but you did it nicely.
