[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Philly has the really odd characteristic of being strangely quite and empty. What I mean is the city has none of the bustle of other cities I have lived in. Philadelphia has the infrastructure ( sidewalks, highways, trains, streets, ferries, subways,) to handle a lot more people who just never seem to materialize except for a very few hours in the early morning and evening rush.
This photo of empty berths explains it a bit better I hope.

I like the diagonals of the empty berths at right angles, the empty parking ramp. Color, composition and depth of field all work to give the feeling of a deserted city. Very well seen.

I live down the road (I95) near Wilmington Delaware and it, too, is a deserted city outside of working hours, which also feels strange to me. It's almost as if the heart of the city had died and no one has done a postmortem to figure out what happened.
