[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
This is Quail Creek Dam, a popular water spot in southern Utah where the heat gets hot!

PP: I converted the sky first. I selected the blues in the sky and ran NeatImage on them, then selected the photo from the water level and up and used the Channel Mixer in Photoshop, with most of the emphasis on the Red channel. This allowed the most dramatic sky by deepening the blues.

I then selected the bottom two thirds and used the Channel Mixer with the greens and reds emphasized. I was in this way able to bring out more detail in the rocks. I hope it worked!

That B&W conversion really worked well, David! very nice scenery...I enjoy all the 'layers', the sky,the mountains, beautifully calm water&reflections, the foreground. So simple, yet many things to explore.

Good composition and exposure - I'm not really a b&w fan but you did this well and I find it attractive.
Still, I wish you posted the colour version too - perhaps as a WS or something.
