Well, I think that the images sort of speak for themselves...But I will tell the sad story anyway.
It seems that my cat,Tika, has fought her way into a new era of feline-ism...
I had taken her outside for her daily play time in the backyard. I was also sitting outside, enjoying my bowl of cereal with some friends when all of the sudden, something went terribly wrong. Our conversations were suddenly interrupted by the squawking of a hundred screeching birds in the trees above the garden. We looked over to see Tika (who stands out quite nicely with her bright orange fur against the dark green watermelon vines) with her back to us, sitting up on her back legs doing her signature "bap" move at something on the ground. I was afraid she was in a fight with a raccoon or something so I ran over there to see what was the problem. As I got closer the birds flew off, all except for one, still sweetly chirping. I saw no signs that Tika was hurt. I proceeded to bend down and lift up a leaf from the vine, only to find a baby robin lying on his side, wings spread out, looking up at me with big brown birdie eyes. Tika must have given him the ol’ "one-two". He was breathing so slowly and blinking even slower. I picked up Tika to ensure she wouldn't bring any more harm to the defenseless animal. I then picked Tika up and took her back inside so I could take care of the birdy.
When I returned to the scene of the crime I noticed that an adult robin in the tree from before, came back and was chirping frantically, almost crying, and looking down at us. I once again, bent down to pick up the same leaf as before to see how the baby was doing, but the baby was gone. My spirits were lifted as I assumed that the bird was only waiting for me to leave before it flew away. As I began to blissfully stroll away, I noticed these two little curled up birdie feet sticking out from a different leaf, almost a foot away from the original spot. As I moved in closer I noticed that the little fella was no longer breathing. He looked so peaceful laying there in the shade with a gentle breeze blowing. I thought to myself, what a wonderful serene place to rest in peace.
I decided to name and bury the little fella...I subsequently came up with the name, "Bobby the baby robin". I assumed that the only bird left behind still yelling at us, was the baby's mother...she was still out there the last time I checked. So I dug a little perfect hole for Bobby and gently placed him in it...
After we finished putting the final touches on the grave I brought the culprit back outside so she could say she was sorry to Bobby and his mother. Oh, and I found a wanted poster stapled to the tree next to Bobby's grave, I scanned and attached it as well. |

Nice montage, Stacey - and a great sense of humour ;o).
You really made Tika look like a fierce, mean killer in the poster...
Great idea. TFS
I couldn't read all of the note because I'm too sensitive, but I do like the collage, and I think the little graveyard was very sweet of you.

Very good idea to make that collage to go with your history of the adventure of Tika. Nice work and I like your sense of humour...
Oh no! The poor baby bird. Ahh, survival of the fittest. Being a cat owner myself, I know they can get into anything. My 2 are indoor cats, but they stare at the birds and lizards and who knows what would happen if they were to get out. Nice collage!
