[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Here is a picture of a Steamboat named Steamer Natchez hence the title, departing onto the Mississippi River, after dusk the purple hue was in the sky that is natural.

This was a 35 second exposure set on bulb at f/22 I'm resting my camera along the next brown pole that you see in this shot. I got extremely wet and there was a few waterspots that got on my lens quite small though that I cloned stamped out in PS7.
Tell me what you think, I hope you like this shot.

Very nice pict.
Well done with a good composition.

Great exposure Davian...I love the "smooth" movement in the rotation. Beautiful boat, it is a shame about that pole in the way. TFS :~)

Nice picture! The speed effect on the wheel looks quite weird, it's like this is some supersonic steamer :) I just can't figure out how come the boat didn't move a single inch in 35 seconds if it's wheel was turning!

I love this Steamship and was thilled to see it posted here. I was born in Natchez, MS and have spent a lot of time there and been aboard this beautiful craft. I recognized it from the thumbprint! You have a colorful capture of it and causes a bit of homesickness! :O)

Very good work keeping the camera still on such a long exposure, the motion of the wheel and the water spraying from the bottom is a very eye catching effect, well done.

I love the moving effect. Great colors and lights ! Good job !

Interessant shot... I like the moviment ides in here. Very very well done Davian.

I find it amazing that you shot this without a tripod, Dave, just putting your camera on a pole. How did you release it (open/close) - did you touch it at all? I understand that the movement of the wheel isn't that fast - as first assumed - it's 35 seconds of move here. But it gives a fascinating effect, as almost going at full speed. The light is well controlled by the small aperture and the sky looks great. Only thing bothering me is the other pole obscuring the beautiful steamer, but I understand that not even you could remove it. Well done!

The motion blur has definitaly made this shot stand out, but 35s? surely 3.5?! If 35s its a very steady ship and a pensive person on the deck. I didn't realise they still had these old ships in operation, they must look very grand on the river. Great result, well done.

I love this photo, excellent image considering the long exposure and lack of a tripod i esspecially like the mist behind the boat creats a nice blur

Beautiful spin Daiven. there is no water spill around. Very beautiful picture.

Super work on the exposure. The slow shutter speed really gave the idea of motion to the photo. I am amazed that you captured some of the people in perfect condition. Looks like they were sitting still for at least 35 secs. I would have liked to see a bit more of the boat.

Niek
