[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Not the most original view in the world, as every photographer who has been inside Frank Lloyd-Wright's masterpiece, The Guggenheim Museum in NY, has probably taken an picture similar to this.

I quite like this treatment of it however, created by taking a B/W file, and running it through a free P/S plug in filter from the "Virtual Photgrapher" range from www.optikvervelabs.com.

I do need some advice though guys. On a lot of my images such as this, where there are distinct areas of light and dark, I get a lot of unpleasant pixelation along the boundaries. I've mitigated it here by choosing a soft filter, and by some use of the blur tool, but neither is always ideal.

I'm guessing this may be due to over enthusiastic or clumsy sharpening when I first saved the image.
Does this sound plausible? Is there another cause?

Thanks
Andy

Classy archit shot, great symbiosis of curves and lights. Very slick, nice work.

Try using smart sharpening next time.

A very beautiful representation of this monument dedicated to arts. Good composition and tones. I like the light creating soft shades on the spiral. Very well done! Annie

You have taken a very nice point of view of this building Andy! Your composition too is well studied. You usualy get pixielations and color fringing from low megapixel cameras. i do not even know what you are using here as you did not list it. Over sharpening sometimes brings it out.

Hello Andy!!
Yes, Iīts a masterpiece and a very photographier building. Itīs dificult to find a little corner it doesnīt be captured. But you had a good work.

hi andy,
pixellation usually happens from oversharpening, too much filtering and blow-up images. one case too is the compression when saving it.

now on the image, great architectural shot annd great choice of sepia tones over an overxposed light from above. i like the shadows touching from the rooftop to the concrete "curves" which is ideal for ambience. tfs.

Hello Andy, I don't see any pixels here. Did you use NeatImage or something similar? I use it when I need it.

Your composition here is very well done. Just the perfect tight crop to showcase the curves of the landings and the glass dome.

Your choice of tone goes very well too.

Cheers, Yan :)
