[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
A cool summer morning at an abandoned farmstead near Bowbells, North Dakota, land of the No. 1 Hard.

Wheat is more than just a cash crop here; it represents prosperity through hard times, longevity of tradition, and a struggle for survival that is still as real as it was a hundred years ago.

Walking (carefully) through these fields is like walking among ghosts. The seas of grass move and wave as if they are a living, breathing thing; and if you listen hard enough, you can almost hear the voices of things that used to be.

Brian, this shot has a nice simplicity. I like the blue sky and green corn, also the ear of corn on the right of the farmstead gives a little added interest. For me the farmstead is a little too central, perhaps I would have cropped out some of the sky and copied the moon lower down so that it could be retained in the shot.
Nice work.

Beautiful!

Cheers,
Carla

beautiful shot...looks even better off the camera and onto the comp...i think you have definately achieved your goal of simplifying the background and your pics with this one...the colors and composition are perfect...i especially like the few pieces of wheat that stick up past the rest against the sky...i also like the vast amount of sky you have included because as we both know sky is something there is no shortage of in ND...thanks again for showing me around the great plains of ND...we will have to do it again sometime...some of my shots should be up shortly...peace***

Muy linda fotografía, un punto de vista de una casa muy novedoso con luna incluida.
Felicitaciones.
Saludos.

Hi Brian,

Wheat fields are special and full of history and as you say, ghosts that will speak if you listen closely. The light here is beautiful on the abandoned house and the tall wheat grass is a great foreground for this very well done image Brian. The moon just adds that little something extra as I watched the same moon in the deep blue sky that morning of the 14th. Your notes are just as enjoyable as your photographs!

Love and Peace always
Kevin

Excellent image, Bryan! I jus love your low point of view. Nice story as well. Thanks for sharing.

Hi Brain,
I like the color cast of this photo. The green wheat and green roof complement eachother perfectly. I also like the oldness of the farmstead and the clear blue sky. I am not so sure about the composition, with the horizon and main subject in the center of the photo.
TFS,
Niek
