During a freak snowstorm in February 2004 subtropical Charlotte, North Carolina, which on most winters doesn't even get any snow, was dumped upon by mother nature. About 1½ feet (almost half a metre!) of snow transformed our backyard into a winter wonderland.
There was no flash needed due to the whiteness of the snow reflecting enough light to capture the scene.
I thought this grill, with its cover weighed down by several pounds of wet snow, was rather comical. If I were to step out on our back deck today, in July 2006, the temperature on this sundrenched back deck during the last few weeks has been as high as 100°F (yes, folks, that's 38°C!!!).
Though the sun was up on this winter's day, it was still the other side of the house, so this scene was entirely in the shade. The wooden bannister is a reminder that this is normally a place where bratwursts and hamburgers are grilled in the sweltering heat of summer.
There was indeed no grilling on that day. I believe we stayed inside and cooked up some hearty soup or stew instead. |

Hi Scott
I love snow and snow shots and this one is certainly no exception. Nice composition with a light tone of snowy colors.
Thanks for sharing this, specially on these hot summer days :)
Jaja! Good picture!. Today in Argentina is a Cold day... but in Buenos Aires we don't see snow... yesterday fall ice rocks from the sky!.
Saludos!
