Hurricane Ophelia had the effect of making a planned pharmaceutical convention cancel in the last moment, as a result of which this Marriot Resort on Hilton Head Island in South Carolina was all but vacated, if you'll excuse the pun... as we vacationed there.
Initially this may look like a holiday snap, but upon further inspection you might notice that I framed the shot to include the one other guy who was at the pool up in the top lefthand corner of the picture.
I also used the effect of the sunbeds so perfectly aligned to allow the picture to tell us a story of a pool boy with a whole lot of time on his hands.
Even though I myself also had a lot of time on my hands (even the pool bar was closed) this picture did not require any re-takes, as the subjects all sat perfectly still for me... thanks, guy at the end of the pool!
No cropping, no PhotoShop, no adjustments, just shrunk it in MS-Paint to get the megapixel down to TL allowable size, no magic, just worked with what I had... |
