| [Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note |
| Mid-summer at 10,500 (3200m) feet in the Eastern Sierra is quite special this year because of the huge snowfall this past winter. This view is from Minaret Summit looking at Banner Peak, Mt Ritter and the Minarets which reach to over 13,000 feet (4000m). The yellow flowers are Alpine Gold while the purple are lupine. At this altitude all plants are minatures . . . and the growing season is about 50 days. |

This is a beautiful image of my favorite mountains. I remember those peaks well from hiking the John Muir Trail many years ago. Love the foreground flowers. Purple and yellow, being complements really put some punch in this photo.
Thanks for sharing
Evelynn : )
Magnificent composition, with great variety of colors and shapes. The textures of the foreground are well portrayed and the clouds go perfectly together with the snow on the peaks.
Great job!

A very nice high altitude shot and informative note. Very nice details on the foreground, colorful and sharp.

Congratulations on your 100th shot on TL, David. I like the colours here, all very soft even though saturation is quite high. Excellent contrast in the mountain range, which is rather difficult to achieve.
Well done, TFS
