This is great. Its like one of theose 'what is it' pictures. If it was cropped to a few of the ripples you would be hard pushed to figure it out. The little bit of shoreline gives a hint of where the green is reflecting from.TFS

Hello Gary, I like very much those green ripples as you do. The focus is well done and so is the sharpness. I know you are satisfied with the result, but imho, if you aimed your cam a bit higher to include the shore to use the 1/3 of the image, it would be technically perfect.

Fantastic shot Gary and even more so from a moving boat. Such green water. It reminds me of an emerald and that can't be bad. Congratulations!

I like the compo (apart from the riverside at the top) and the lovely green, Gary. Could it be you oversharpened here ? The water surface looks as if it was crowded with algae... which could well be, so I just ask.
Try Luka's sharpening method for p&s shots, but only use USM 80 - 85 %, 0.3 - 0.5 , 0 on images from the dSLR... I got this advice from Mike (fisher) and I have to admit it's been a great tip ;o).

I came to comment on your latest photo, then I saw this. I stopped, looked, enlarged it and got hooked! It is a very beautiful photo. I like the frozen liguid photo of the ripples with its abstract shapes and flowing lines. Very well done.

A good capture, which I think would work even better if you cropped the shore off altogether - I like the shapes and colours in the ripples. Nice photo.

Hi Gary: Christan sitting right beside me, and she says; "Cool" - I agree. If it was any warmer outside, I'd say I would want to dive right in, but as it is, it's beginning to get rather chilly out.

Lovely capture of the ripples; like all the shades of green.I think it would have worked very well if you had cropped the plants at the top of the picture. I do like abstract shots. TFS, regards Jean
