On a vacation you are suppose to relax, unwind from your bussy daily hassels at work. But most of the time, somehow, you seem to hurry again to see as much as you can while you are on your vacation location. Even the days before you begin your vacation you are bussy. You need to pack your bags, plan your each day of your vacation ans make arrangement with somebody to pick up your mail and water your plants.

So when ever you do get the opportunity to sit down and relax, use it to your full advantage. Like in one of these comfortable chairs at the Glacier Park Lodge & Resort. From here you got a great look over the beautiful garden.

Glacier Park Lodge and Resort is a western theme lodge along main line of the Burlington Northern Railroad. Huge Douglas fir pillars that are over 40 feet high and 40 inches in diameter form the supports in the impressive lobby that welcomes you to the Lodge. The Blackfeet Indians, awed by the size of the timbers called it "Omahkoyis", or Big Tree Lodge. With a heated outdoor swimming pool, nine-hole golf course and close proximity to Glacier National Park, Glacier Park Lodge is a wonderful Montana destination resort.

Hoi Niek,
Hans

very beautifully composed.
I would like to sit there and relax...

Hi Niek,
What a good idea! To seat there and relax and smell the forest aroma which must surround the house! With friends, to tell stories, with glass to the hand. To listen the bars of the chairs singing on the floor. The evening perhaps, with a good woollen, to look at the sky and predict time that it will make tomorrow. Yes, a very good idea! And a photo inspiring with a warm mood! Bravo! Annie

Neat shot. Reminds me of a place I went to, but in California.

Hello, Niek!
I missed some of your photos:)
Really like this one:)
Great perspective and tones! The wood texture gives it such a warm touch!

Nicely done, Niek. Very relaxing scene and these chairs do look very inviting...but there is no one who decided to take advance of these comfy chairs. Nice colours & light. Well done!

hi Niek,
nice lead-lines achieved with the chairs. Perhaps it may have worked better with them off center ..and probably with the closest one out of focus a bit.. ( well just my thoughts! :) )
Looks good all the same.

Well done.
Regards, Daniel

Hello Niek,
Interesting repetition effect!
This looks like a really nice place and not only because of the chairs...
Good point of view, subjects captured with fresh colours and good details!
Greetings,
Pablo -

Nice capture, Niek. Really nice atmospheric shot. I like not only the chairs but the inclusion of the log walls of the hotel in the shot. Good job with the light, too. A bit of barrel distortion introduced with the UWA, but I'm not bothered by it. I'm not sure if the 11m or the layers here are responsible for the detail in the wood floor in the fg, but I love it.
Mike

great place for relax, niek.
excellent work with great composition.

Plenty to sit on. I like the way the chairs are alligned and the wooden floor's structure.

Seb

I am glad that you stopped at the East Glacier Hotel. I think the interior with those huge Douglas Fir columns, is amazing. All of those big trees were brought to Glacier from right here in Oregon. They seem longer than a rail car...but maybe not. I always wonder how they got them there with bark and all still intact. I like the idea of your photo. It isn't as sharp as some of your images but still fun. My eye tends to go to the sharp wooden floor first rather that down the line of chairs. I might have tried to transform it bit to counter the lens distortion and make the vertical lines more vertical. Maybe that is an effect you wanted using that lens???

This place looks very comfortable and indeed quite relaxing. I like your composition even though I would prefer to see the nearest window not being chopped off at the top. Very pleasant light and colors.

this is appealing with its textures and depth of field..using the upright format stretches the eye and keeps it constant in the reign of the images..down the middle
the window frames pleasantly circle the far reaches and return our eyes to the chairs with the verandha balistrade keeping the image balanced in the horizontal plane
cheers

veru inviting photo! I live the colours, warm and bright in the same time, that's rare:)

Thanks, Sabina
