Wilderness Hourglass #2

| [Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note |
Another shot of Partridge Falls, this time from the gorge below. I took this just after we arrived, after 10.5 miles of rough hiking with 60-pound packs.
We were planning to continue pushing west-northwest through the Superior National Forest for another 4.5 miles, make a 2-mile swamp crossing, and link up with the Superior Hiking Trail that evening... but we heard the falls from the woods, went to check it out, and decided that this place was too beautiful to just pass on through (especially since we knew that we were headed to said giant swamp).
I happened to catch a streak of sunlight, just before the sun slipped too far below the horizon to make handheld picture taking impossible.

very impressive, great light, wonderful softness but so strong!

Great capture, Brian. I love falls myself so this grabbed my attention immediately. Your hiking partner alongside it would have been wonderful, say, just on the edge of the far right for a sense of size, too, and an alternate shot. Framing simple and nice. A polarizing filter can mute the white OE sky in these shots.
I've never actually been to see those falls, and this photo makes me want too! Great job!
