[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
This is from a portrait shoot I did a while back for a friend who was graduating from high school. I knew that he wanted shots where his face could be seen, but I couldn't help taking this one "for myself" when I saw how he was silhouetted in the shade of the tree overlooking the lake.

He is holding a violin under his chin, and the bow is in his lap the way he holds it before he brings it up to start playing.

The original was on film, and the colors did not scan in well, so I ended up completely desaturating much of the top of the picture and then painting the colors back in the way I wanted them.

i am listening to very good and soothing music right now and am enjoying looking at this photo..

feel almost as if the music i am listening to is emerging from his violin..

i personally love silhuettes, they often tell more about a person or about an object..

very nice framing, composition, and good pp. with the colors and saturation :)

Beautiful shot you got here, look very lonely and a bit sad ... very moody shot, but I would lighten the colours of the trees in the far end... it will create another kind of mood. :) but that's just me... thanks for sharing

A sihouette of a young man on the back of a lake along with a violen looks fabullous in the vast background. Good details and luminar controls. Very well composed image.
