[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
I was riding my bike in the woods and happened upon this tree. It looked like a lady, who was lifting her hands praising GOD. The base of the tree is so big that I could stand inside of it. It was hollow!
This is in Bear Creek, Texas.
This was taken with my old Standby Minolta SRT 101, a fully manual camera that I just traded in for a brand new Sony DSC-F717~

"there can be only one" (highlander)
Old trees are fascinating, there was a series of short 5-10 minutes stories on BBC telling the stories of trees that had survived for hundreds of years. (interested ? have a glance here)
Well spotted Linda, but the picture seems to have suffered from... a bad scan ? (horizontal fragmentation)

Trees are much more than vegetals... I agree with You, this one is very expressive and seems desperate. Well done.

Wow!!! Linda - this is the one!!!
Yeah - really look like is prying.
Now we have wide angles lenses what could be fantastic opportunity in California Yosemite Park if I don't mistaken this location. I think about these giant sequoias there... some of them as old as 5000 years!!!
I was only able to see years ago red tree forest (different kind of sequoia), just south of San Francisco - there is in the visitor center, hanging slice of over 2000 years tree - they did small copper tags attached to it with prints on it about major events on the planet - like Jesus was born! - tag is placed almost in the center, then other attachments up to the edge of this slice.... big and anusual thing to see, then you start thinking and feel these goose bumps on your arms.
Well this picture is not that good technically but subject is getting all my attention and this way it is so good, touching.....
Thank you - all the best - Tom
